Job Description

Find everything you are looking for as a Small Animal Veterinarian in our AAHA-Accredited practice.  Lots of people say they’re compassionate but, the results are in and, our experienced team at Grey Bruce Pet Hospital truly is.  Only 6% of hospitals in Canada are accredited by AAHA, and our 4 veterinarian, Small Animal hospital is one of them. We celebrate best practices and are not shy to try new things, most recently introducing stem cell therapy and digital thermal imaging to our roster. Our vets work alongside our 7 Registered Veterinary Technicians and, together with our other support team members, we run a busy and successful hospital. We use cloud-based software (Ezy-Vet) and our nearest referral centre is conveniently located within the Ontario Veterinary College.  Our building has served us well for many years but we are currently in the planning stages for construction of a new hospital – something to look forward to!

Grey Bruce Pet Hospital in Owen Sound, Ontario is looking to grow our team and nurture the establishment of 3 exceptional full-time Veterinarians (Small Animal).

Although independently operated, our hospital is part of P3 Veterinary Partners, an innovative Canadian Veterinary Practice group of hospitals whose vision is to be the best place to work in veterinary healthcare. This allows our team members across Canada the benefit of being a part of a network of veterinary professionals, with opportunities to learn, share and develop skills internally. With additional management support and resources, you are sure to feel like a part of something very special within the Canadian veterinary industry. Our purpose is to empower veterinary teams to live their passion and focus on unparalleled care for pets and the people who loves them.

About Grey Bruce Pet Hospital: Grey Bruce Pet Hospital is a wholly-owned subsidiary of P3 Veterinary Partners that provides quality in-house services including general medicine, dentistry and surgery for small animals, as well as urgent and after-hours care. We also offer services such as behavioural, nutrition, and dermatological consults. We provide complete veterinary services suited to the needs of you and your pet.

We are offering an incredible opportunity for full-time Veterinarians (Small Animal) with a minimum of 1 year of experience. We are an established and highly efficient team dedicated to practicing high-quality medicine. We value work-life balance and have a lot of fun as a team.

Being an AAHA-Accredited practice means we are constantly striving to be better, with clear protocols and progressive culture. With a fear-free mindset and emphasis on client relationships, we are lucky to have a compliant client base that benefits from our extensive scope of services.

Our veterinarians work collaboratively and have regular doctor’s meetings to ensure consistency and open communication. In support of your medicine, you will have an in-house lab, digital x-ray, therapeutic laser and ultrasound available. Along with theriogenology, rehabilitation and chiropractic services in-house, one of our vets rounds out our Western medicine with Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture for the times when your clients wish to pursue these methodologies.

You will be scheduled for 36-40 hours over 4 days as well as working one in four Saturday shifts. There will be a mix of appointments and surgeries. Each of our veterinarians is responsible for one on-call shift every 4-6 weeks as part of a rotating call system shared within our community.
