Newly Opening Chinese Restaurants seeking candidate to fill the following position: Cantonese Cuisine Chef
Position Details: Full-Time Permanent, 35 hours/week
Work Setting: Chinese Restaurant located in Scarborough Ontario

Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
Create new recipes and update cooking procedures
Supervise cooks and other central kitchen staff
Train and instruct cooks in preparation of food
Ensure food meets quality standards
Ensure good and consistent portion control
Ensure food handling procedures are followed and the kitchen is kept clean to meet food quality and safety standards
Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.
Take inventory, order food and kitchen supplies as needed.
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Analyze operating costs and other data. Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs.
Self starter, effective interpersonal skills, team player, dependable, organized, good planning, ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
Minimum 10 years as head/master chef with proven expertise in authentic Cantonese cuisine. Must have knowledge and experience in choosing best foods to prepare broths and create Cantonese aromatics using traditional and authentic Cantonese spices
