Education: Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. Certificate in Bread/Cake/Pastry is an asset.
Experience/Skills: A minimum of three to four years of experience as a Baker understanding of ingredients and food preparation to craft recipes and create baked goods. Measure and mix raw ingredients, bake and decorate items. design, execute, and improve recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance item presentation, and process orders from customers. Experience with cake decoration techniques. Be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.
Strong organization skills and attention to details. Good written and verbal communication skills.
Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough. Decorating cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings. Mix various ingredients to create fillings for cakes and pies, chocolate ganache, caramel sauce and fruits. Prepare custom-made pastries and cakes based on customers’ preferences. Arranging the display case in an appealing manner. Frost and decorate cakes baked goods. Make desserts and gateaux.
Schedule production and determine type and quantity of goods to bake. Check inventory and place orders with vendors as required to purchase supplies. Ensure proper storage of all items in refrigerators and freezers. Measure and mix raw ingredients, bake and decorate items, and ensure that all raw and finished goods adhere to quality and food safety standards
