Farm Supervisor

Satwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Jang Singh Dhaliwal, Daljit Kaur Dhaliwal is currently hiring 1 Farm Supervisor (NOC 8252) for their blueberry farm at Pitt Meadows, BC.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Wage Rate: $18.60/ Hour (40 hours / week.)

Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay

Minimum Education: Completion of secondary (High) School

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the farm setting is required. It does not have to be supervisory.

Language: Basic English

Job Duties:

• Co-ordinate and Supervise farm labour in daily crop work, planting, digging plants and harvesting activities and perform work quality checks.
• Supervise and oversee growing and other related operation of crops and plants.
• Develop work schedules and establish procedures for the workers.
• Assist & Supervise workers team in successfully starting and completing all crop production &  tasks such as harvesting, pruning, clean out, and planting, fertilizing & distributing etc
• Maintain quality control and production records.
• Observe workers to detect inefficient or unsafe work procedures or to identify problems, initiating corrective action as necessary.
• Review employees’ work to evaluate quality and quantity
• Train workers in techniques such as planting, fertilizing and in the use of safety measures.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking

Work Site Environment

Year-round work, outdoors, wet/damp/rain, odours, hot/cold.

Additional Skills

Maintain work records and logs, Perform general farm duties, Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Hire and train staff
