Type of Position: Permanent, full time

 

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
  • Fits sub-assemblies and auxiliary assemblies, working from prints, and pre-located holes.
  • Dismantles assemblies to repair or replace parts.
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operates arc air gouger as required.
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Recognizes and reports obvious mistakes in blueprints or defects in material or equipment.
  • Checks safety mechanisms for alignment and action.
  • Checks work against print to ensure accuracy.

 

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience

 

Wage & Hours: $27.40 per hour

  • Number of hours per day: 8+
  • Number of days per week: 5+
  • Number of hours per week: 40+
  • Overtime starts after how many hours: 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
  • Shift rotation: As Needed

  • After successful completion of 520 regular time hours, all hourly employees are enrolled into our pension plan. The Company will contribute 5.5% and the employee has a choice to contribute or not.
