Title of Position: Taekwondo Instructor (NOC 5254)

Type of Position: Permanent, full time

Job Duties:
•Instruct and inspire students creatively and help develop the necessary skills to succeed in their program
•Prepare students for winter and year end performances
•Give feedback to parents at the end of every lesson
•Deliver pre-designed classes to groups of up to 20 students
•Create lesson plans
•Energize and motivate students throughout the session to become the best versions of themselves
•Ensure the safety of all students in regards to technique, spacing, and pairing up of students by size and ability.
•Modify specific techniques or exercises to accommodate different levels of skills and pre-existing conditions
•Schedule activities, keep logs, maintain records and prepare reports
•Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
•Ensuring the safety and keeping students engaged within the program
•Manage and coach at events, such as camps and tournaments

Skills Required:
•Detail and task oriented
•Reliable & punctual
•Intermediate knowledge of physiology, martial arts technique, and body mechanics
•Ability to multi-task and stay organized
•Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal skills
•Understand principles of group dynamics
•Being a team player
•Leadership qualities

Experience Required:
•1+ years of experience teaching groups in the martial arts
•2 dan and up in World Taekwondo federation

Education Required:
•Completion of secondary school is required

Wage & Hours: $21.00 per hour
•Number of hours per day: 7hrs (Monday-Friday) – 5hrs (Saturday)
•Number of days per week: 6 (Monday - Saturday)
•Number of hours per week: 40
•Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
•Shift rotation (as applicable): N/A
