FARES & CO Development Inc. are looking to employ an experienced Concrete Formwork Foreman to supervise our concrete workers and oversee all activities relating to concrete structures.
The successful candidate will be responsible to supervise the work of 10-20 carpenters and concrete workers to prepare forms, and place, finish, and cure concrete.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Have Knowledge and experience in erecting formwork for a variety of structures including and not limited to foundations, walls, columns, beams, suspended slabs, stairs and miscellaneous architectural concrete structures.
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans to estimate the amount of labor and materials required for concrete construction projects.
· Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of carpenters, form builders, concrete workers and skilled trades for each project.
· Ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed according to blueprints, drawings, and plans.
· Ensure that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
· Maintain accurate records of the resources used for each project, including but not limited to the number of hours worked and amount of materials used for each project.
· Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
· Prepare schedules and other reports
· Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity
· Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other aspects.
Education & Experience Required:
· High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
· Good English reading and writing ability
· Post-secondary education in construction management or construction science is an asset.
· 2-3 years proven experience as a General Foreman.
· Commercial driver's license is an asset.
· Computer literacy including working knowledge of estimation software.
· Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
· Proven management, training, motivations and leadership skills.
· Proven organizational and time management skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to details
Salary: $30.00/hour
Position: Permanent, full time and overtime as needed
Work hours: minimum 40 hours/week Monday to Friday and some weekends and overtime 8-10 hour shifts
Work Location: Based in Dartmouth, NS and work sites will vary in NS based on project.
Transportation: Responsible for own transportation to and from work site.
