Salary: $32 p/h + overtime rate at 50%

Vacation: 10 days / 4% of vacation pay

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·          Exterior finishing work including installation of cedar siding wood soffits, wall shingles, brackets rainscreen, windows, doors and trims;

·          Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.

·          Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes; lightweight steel and other materials;

·          Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware;

·          Able to ensure the execution of single-family construction processes are carried out thoroughly;

·          To inspect finished materials for quality and accuracy;

·          Be knowledgeable and familiar with construction documents, drawings, and local building codes;

·          Keep orderly records of mileage, job receipts and accurate time-sheets;

Job Requirements for the position are:

·          Completion of secondary school is required - High school diploma;

·          Must have at least 2 years of experience in finishing carpentry;

·          Must be able to work alone and with others and be able to work under minimal supervision;

·          Must be able to read/use a tape measure;

·          Must be able to use all power and pneumatic tools;

·          Must be able to do some heavy lifting;

·          Be familiar with Framing / Forming / Decking / Door installation experience;

·          Valid driver’s license; and

·          Obtaining a Red Seal is an asset.
