Edge Vancouver Construction Group Ltd is seeking a Carpenter Helper to join the team and start work ASAP. Eligible individual must have reliable transportation and be hard-working. This is a full-time, 40 hours guaranteed per week position for $29.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, health and dental benefits after a 3-month probation period, and a discretionary annual bonus based on performance. Initial position will be for a term of two years, potential for position to become permanent. Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends and must be able to lift heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs). This is a physically demanding job.
Languages: Intermediate English is required at minimum
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent education
Experience: Some construction experience is required, at minimum 7 to 12 months of experience
Responsibilities/tasks:
* Load, unload and transport construction materials to work areas
* Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
* Clean and pile salvaged materials
* Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
* Sweeping, mopping, dusting and window cleaning;
* Assist skilled carpenters (and other sub-trades if required) in construction activities
