Our Specialist Component Rebuilders are highly specialized experts in the remanufacturing of Caterpillar machine components. By utilizing Cat OEM reference material, they expertly disassemble, inspect, recondition, assemble and test components of all types; makes, horsepower and sizes in your area of specialization (large engines or powertrain components) in order to meet our rigorous quality guidelines.
Job Duties:
• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives;
• Remanufacture components of all types; makes, horsepower and sizes in your area of specialization (large engines or powertrain) to Caterpillar standards;
• Order parts and maintain awareness of delivery times and schedule work at the bench and maintain work flow ;
• Prepare service reports and quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner ;
• Consistently produce products of superior quality while meeting the rebuild TRG’s (Time Requirement Guidelines) as published for various components;
• Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met in a safe, efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner.

• Able to take the initiative and work with minimal supervision

Experience Required:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in evaluating and disassembling and remanufacture heavy equipment components in all makes, types, horsepower and sizes (engines, transmissions, differentials, final drives, torque converters, axels, and others) to Caterpillar standards;
• Technical experience in the automotive, truck and coach, heavy equipment or related industry.
• Must have experience using precision measuring instruments to measure dimensions of manufactured products or components.
Education Required:
• Trade certificate or equivalent technical experience.
Wage & Hours: $ 42.92 / h
• Number of hours per day: 8 - 10
• Number of days per week: 4 - 5
• Number of hours per week: 40
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
• Shift rotation: 7am to 3.30; 5am to 3.30 and 3.30pm to 2am
