Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance of all in-house machinery
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical and technical issues in machines; repair or replace faulty parts such as motors, loopers, belts, gears, and tension mechanisms.
- Install, calibrate, and test new machines or attachments to ensure proper functionality for specific fabric types and garment finishes.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal stitch quality, needle alignment, and fabric feed for various garment components (jackets, pants, shirts, linings, etc.).
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance to reduce machine downtime.
- Support the tailoring team with first-level troubleshooting, usage guidance, and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of service, repairs, parts usage, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with management to ensure all equipment meets workplace safety regulations and tailors production standards.
- Perform daily and periodic cleaning of sewing equipment: Use lint brushes and tweezers to clean the bobbin area, feed dogs, needle plate, and other components & remove the needle plate and bobbin case for deep cleaning as needed.
- Replace sewing needles after every 8–10 hours of use to prevent issues like skipped stitches or fabric damage.
- Ensure machines are threaded correctly and use high-quality threads to reduce breakage and tension issues.
- Inspect and maintain key machine components such as bobbin cases, tension discs, and the area under the throat plate to prevent common operational problems.
- Adjust stitch length and tension settings to match the fabric type and construction requirements of bespoke garments.
- Calibrate and maintain specialty equipment like buttonhole makers, blind stitch machines, pant hemmers, and surging cuff machines to ensure high precision for fine suit detailing.

Qualifications-
Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience servicing tailoring equipment in a garment production or tailoring shop.
- Experience working in a custom tailoring or textile environment is an asset.
- Ability to identify faults quickly and conduct precise repairs with minimal supervision.
Languages:
- Basic English proficiency for understanding manuals and communicating with team members.
On site:
- Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work conditions and physical capabilities:
- Work is performed in a tailoring studio setting with regular exposure to fabrics, mechanical tools, and pressing equipment.
- Requires light-to-moderate lifting (machine parts, toolkits).
- May require standing or crouching for extended periods during repair work.
