Responsibilities
Tasks
1. Provide clinical care and maintains the resident plan of care records in accordance with administrative policies, physicians’ orders and the standards of the College of Nurses (CNO).
2. Develops and follows the Plan of Care (or Service Plan) according to the best practices and reports any substantial changes in the resident’s care or heath by documenting them in the system. Protects the confidentiality of each resident’s health information.
3. Provides safe, accurate administration of medication and treatments provided to residents, while maintaining complete and accurate applicable documentation.
4. Respects the rights and dignity of all residents, families, team members, and visitors to the village.
5. Addresses any requests with professionalism and care. Speaks courteously and tactfully with all team members, residents and residents’ families, visitors, physicians, and volunteers.
6. Works cooperatively and collaboratively as a cross-functional neighbourhood team to ensure a safe and comfortable living and working environment, including maintaining residents’ equipment and belongings; and nursing equipment.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Successful completion of the Regulatory Exam – Practical Nurse (REx-PN™) or formerly Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
