Job Duties:
• Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy mining equipment and ancillary equipment used in open pit coal mine such as shovels, drills, haul trucks, loaders, dozers and excavators.
• Operate materials handling equipment, ladders, man-lifts, safety harness and lanyard, forklifts, small loaders and trucks to access field repairs.
• Respond to mechanical issues both in the maintenance shop and in the field.
• Use hand tools, air and impact tools, sledgehammers and hydraulic torque equipment.
• Adhere to Conuma’s workplace policies and standard operating procedures, and environmental and health and safety compliance standards of excellence.
Skills Required:
• Work assignments could be shop or field, ability to work in either space.
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation.
• Self-motivated, have initiative, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of mining processes and mine monitoring control systems (operations and maintenance).
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Proven safety and attendance record.
• Knowledge of computer maintenance systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and within established timelines.
• Ability to manage and prioritize assignments.
• Demonstrate problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
• Lead by example to maintain high standards of conduct at workplace.
• Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity skills.
• Be consistent and fair in decision making process.
Experience Required:
• 3 to 5 years in heavy equipment repairs.
Education Required:
• Secondary school education required.
Wage & Hours: $55.26 (uncertified trade) - $58.00 (Certified)

• Number of days per week: 7
• Number of hours per week: 42
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40
• Shift rotation (as applicable): 7 ON and 7 OFF, so the average is 42 hours per week.
• As the employees work under a variance, each employee will receive pay for 4 hours of overtime per rotation (every 2 weeks) if the full hours are met within the two-week rotation. (80 hours are paid at straight time, 4 hours paid at time and a half/overtime). Double-time pay for any shift over 12 hours and time and a half for any days worked during days of rest, etc.
