Prepare greenhouse growing areas for seasonal crop cycles, including cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing work surfaces and growing equipment.
Assist with planting and transplanting bell pepper seedlings into designated growing media, ensuring correct spacing and plant placement.
Monitor and support early plant growth by applying basic plant care tasks such as pruning, tying, trellising, leaf removal, and maintaining proper canopy structure under supervisor guidance.
Water plants and check irrigation systems to ensure consistent moisture and nutrient delivery.
Perform daily crop maintenance activities such as removing damaged leaves, adjusting plant height support lines, and ensuring circulation around plants.
Identify and report signs of pests, diseases, or irregular plant development to supervisors promptly.
Harvest mature bell peppers by hand using appropriate picking techniques to avoid damage to plants and fruit.
Sort, grade, and pack harvested bell peppers according to size, quality, and company standards.
Operate, clean, and maintain basic greenhouse tools and equipment used in crop management and harvesting.
Assist in loading packed produce for storage or shipment in accordance with food safety and handling procedures.
Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
Participate in end-of-season tasks, including removal of old plants, disposal of plant waste, cleaning of greenhouse structures, and preparation for the next planting cycle.
