Charger Global Logistics Canada Limited fosters a collaborative and fast-paced work environment and is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to join its team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Position Summary
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and supervising clerical staff supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial processes. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial transactions while coordinating closely with operational and administrative departments in a dynamic logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of clerical staff handling accounts payable and accounts receivable
Oversee invoice processing, customer billing, and follow-up on overdue accounts related to transportation and logistics services
Coordinate with Human Resources to review payroll information and ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.
Review and process insurance-related financial documentation, including claims associated with transportation and logistics operations, as applicable
Establish and maintain work schedules, procedures, and internal processes for accounting staff
Train team members on accounting procedures, systems, and company policies
Prepare and submit financial, and operational reports for management review
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records and transactions
Resolve accounting and administrative issues in a timely and professional manner
Coordinate accounting activities with operations, dispatch, and other internal departments
Manage requisitioning of office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office equipment
Maintain organized records and verify the accuracy and completeness of accounting data
Qualifications and Experience
Completion of a college or CEGEP program in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field
Minimum 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related role
Experience supervising or coordinating clerical or accounting staff is considered an asset
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting is preferred
Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
