Job Summary
Truck and trailer mechanic- diagnose, repair, and maintain variety of heavy-duty equipment, including loaders, trucks, trailers and other diesel-powered machinery. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. Both shop-based and field service opportunities my be required
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and computer-controlled issues on heavy equipment using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and component adjustments.
- Repairs and Replacements: Fix or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, steering, and electrical systems.
- Overhauls and Fabrication: Conduct major equipment rebuilds and perform welding or fabrication as needed.
- Testing and Compliance: Test all repaired equipment to ensure performance and safety compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventories.
- Field Service: Respond to emergency field service calls and perform on-site repairs.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, maintain a clean workspace, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaboration: Work with operators and supervisors to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
