Job Duties:
• Install, assemble, adjust, and relocate industrial equipment such as pumps, generators, tanks and mechanical systems using hand and power tools.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify mechanical issues, wear, or abnormal operation.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs by replacing or rebuilding defective components.
• Maintain and service mechanical systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission equipment.
• Read technical drawings, diagrams, and service manuals to determine proper installation and repair procedures.
• Operate lifting devices such as hoists, cranes and hydraulic jacks when positioning heavy machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, and routine adjustments of mechanical components.
• Test equipment after servicing to ensure proper operation and compliance with company and manufacturer standards.
• Fabricate or modify parts when required using shop equipment and tools.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete maintenance reports.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
Skills Required:
• Strong electrical knowledge in 12volt dc and ac power systems and components, and thorough knowledge of diesel engines.
• Understanding of Tier 4 emissions and diesel pumps is an asset.
• Available and willing to work over-time as required.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a strong focus on following procedures and promoting a safe work environment.
• Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of related mechanical/automotive experience.
• Prior experience working on pumps and/or generators is a definite asset.
Education Required:
• Trade/vocational program or equivalent experience.
Wage & Hours: $36.00 per hour
