As part of our growing construction operations, we are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support site preparation, excavation, and grading work on residential and commercial construction projects. The role involves operating heavy equipment to assist with foundation preparation, site servicing, and material movement on active construction sites.

Job Responsibilities 

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Pearl Builders Group Ltd., you will:

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steer machines to support site preparation and construction activities
• Perform excavation and trenching work for foundations, utility installation, and site servicing on residential and commercial projects
• Carry out grading, leveling, and backfilling to prepare construction sites for structural and landscaping work
• Load, move, and distribute construction materials such as soil, gravel, and debris within jobsites
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment to ensure safe and proper functioning
• Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance and minor adjustments on equipment
• Follow site layout instructions, grade stakes, and directions from supervisors to complete assigned work
• Assist with clearing land, removing debris, and preparing sites for development and construction activities
• Complete basic equipment logs and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors
• Operate equipment in accordance with workplace safety standards and construction regulations
• Communicate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate daily construction tasks

Experience and Skills

Completion of a one- to two-year apprenticeship program in heavy equipment operation or relevant training preferred; candidates with secondary school education and related work experience will also be considered

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Experience operating construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, or similar machinery
• Ability to follow site instructions and work under supervision on construction projects
• Basic knowledge of safe equipment operation practices
• Ability to assist with site preparation, excavation, and material handling tasks
