Job Duties:
• Inspect, maintain, and repair saw blades to ensure they are in optimal condition for cutting wood efficiently.
• Sharpen saw teeth and set blades according to specifications, considering the type of wood being processed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with saw blades, identifying causes of reduced performance or premature wear.
• Implement corrective actions to address blade-related problems and minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections of saw blades to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor and maintain the precision of blade profiles to achieve high-quality cuts and minimize waste.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including blade sharpening schedules, adjustments made, and any issues identified.
• Document blade usage and performance metrics to facilitate preventive maintenance planning.
• Collaborate with sawmill operators and maintenance personnel to understand cutting requirements and troubleshoot cutting-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate blade maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks.
