Avon Pest Control Inc. is seeking a highly skilled, disciplined, and detail-driven Pest Control Technician (NOC: 73202) for an immediate opening at our Delta, British Columbia location.

Avon Pest Control is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pest Control Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting properties, identifying pest infestations, and applying appropriate treatments to ensure safe and effective pest control solutions for our clients. This role is best suited for individuals who can work independently, make accurate field decisions, and maintain strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

·         Conduct comprehensive inspections across residential, commercial, and industrial properties, identifying pest activity, structural vulnerabilities, and environmental risk factors

·         Deliver pest control services to residential and commercial clients

·         Travel between job sites using company-provided vehicles and equipment.

·         Accurately diagnose infestations and develop effective, customized treatment plans with clear justifications

·         Safely mix, handle, and apply pesticides using calibrated equipment, strictly adhering to all provincial regulations and label requirements.

·         Execute advanced treatments including spray treatments and targeted applications in sensitive or high-risk environments

·         Install exclusion systems (mesh, sealing, proofing materials) with a focus on long-term prevention, not temporary fixes

·         Perform sanitation, decontamination, and habitat removal in heavily infested environments

·         Maintain detailed digital and written service records suitable for audits and compliance checks.

·         Prepare precise service reports, cost estimates, and treatment documentation with minimal supervision.

·         Communicate professionally with clients, including explaining technical procedures, risks, and preventive strategies

·         Operate independently in the field while maintaining productivity and service quality standards

·         Follow safety procedures and product instructions at all times when using fumigants, pesticides and power spraying equipment, such wearing protective gear guidelines

·         Manage schedule and route to ensure services are completed in a timely manner

·         Address customer needs and optimize their program on-site

·         Work at heights using ladders, roof access equipment, and attic entry points

·         Inspect roofs, soffits, vents, chimneys, crawlspaces, garages, and basements

·         Seal entry points and complete repairs after wildlife removal

·         Perform pest control services for mice, rats, cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, wasps, and more

·         Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment professionally

 

 

Qualifications

·         Valid BC Provincial Pesticide Applicator License

·         Completion of Higher-Secondary School

·         1-2 years of previous hands-on pest control experience in Canada would be preferred

·         Strong working knowledge of common structural pests (rodents, cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, flies, stored product pests, etc.)

·         Proven ability to handle pesticides safely and in compliance with all regulations

·         Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record

·         Educational background in biology related courses would be considered an asset

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities

·         Physically demanding work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and house attics.

·         Exposure to chemicals and outdoor environmental conditions

·         Attention to detail and ability to work independently

 

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time (35-40 hours/week)

Compensation: CA $30.00/hour
