Responsibilities
Tasks
- Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings
- Position and secure drywall panels to metal or wooden framing
- Apply joint compound to seams, holes, and fasteners using trowels and taping tools
- Tape over joints using taping machines and embed tape in compound
- Smooth and finish surfaces to prepare walls and ceilings for painting or finishing
- Sand joints and repaired surfaces to achieve smooth finishes
- Install corner beads and protective trim around openings and corners
- Repair cracks, holes, and damaged drywall surfaces
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure and mark surfaces according to layout plans and project requirements
- Install suspended ceiling systems where required
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with workplace safety standards
- Work with supervisor and other trades to complete projects on schedule
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications
- Other duties as assigned
