Job Duties
- Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and maintain heavy-duty equipment used in construction, mining, agriculture, and related industries
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized diagnostic equipment and other testing tools to determine the extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
- Perform engine overhaul and repair work, including diagnostics on fuel injection systems
- Diagnose and repair power shift transmissions and related drivetrain components
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems and components
- Diagnose and repair electronic and electrical systems on heavy-duty equipment
- Inspect, service, and repair cooling systems on heavy-duty equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and maintenance documentation
- Follow all company health and safety procedures while performing repair and maintenance work
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required
- 1 year to less than 2 years of related work experience is required
- Experience repairing diesel engines, and heavy equipment is preferred
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of brake systems, suspensions, diesel engines, emissions systems, and repair procedures
- Full G-Class driver’s license is considered an asset
- New graduates or licensees holding 310T and/or 310J certification are welcome to apply
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- English language ability is required
