Big Blue Truck Centre Inc. is a heavy equipment repair and maintenance shop located in Brampton, Ontario. The company specializes in diagnostics, inspections, repairs, engine rebuilds, preventative maintenance, DPF services, and computer diagnostics for heavy-duty equipment, diesel engines, commercial vehicles, and related mechanical systems serving the transportation, construction and agricultural industry. Big Blue Truck Centre Inc. has immediate openings for 10 Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanics at our Shop.

Job Details

  • Position: Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanic
  • Vacancies: 10
  • Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time
  • Wage: $36.00 per hour
  • Hours: 30–40 hours per week
  • Overtime available
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Work location: 25 Production Road, Brampton, ON L6T 4N8

Job Duties

  • Conduct inspections and diagnose mechanical issues using test drives, pressure gauges, motor analyzers, computerized diagnostic equipment, and other testing devices as required
  • Troubleshoot and inspect heavy-duty equipment and related mechanical systems to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on heavy-duty equipment and diesel-powered machinery
  • Perform air and hydraulic brake repairs, steering and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related procedures
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts and components
  • Perform engine rebuilds and repair work on diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment
  • Keep maintenance reports and repair documentation
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work
  • Verify and repair emission control systems and DPF-related components
  • Perform all tasks according to Big Blue Truck Centre Inc. safety procedures

Employment Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of related work experience is required
  • Experience repairing diesel engines, and heavy equipment is preferred
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledge of brake systems, suspensions, diesel engines, emissions systems, and repair procedures
  • Full G-Class driver’s license is considered an asset
  • New graduates or licensees holding 310T and/or 310J certification are welcome to apply
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • English language ability is required
