Experience Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience operating and programming CNC machinery in a manufacturing, machining, or steel fabrication environment.

  • Experience setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC equipment to produce precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Intermediate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, inside and outside micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and related inspection tools.

  • Intermediate knowledge of tooling systems, including tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other machine accessories used in CNC machining operations.

  • Ability to inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional requirements.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and identify equipment or tooling malfunctions.

  • Ability to fabricate or modify replacement parts and tooling components as required.

  • Experience performing routine machine maintenance and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to adapt to changing production requirements, competing demands, and shifting priorities.

  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra.

  • Must be physically capable of performing shop-related duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Wage:

$36.50 per hour

Overtime:

Yes (over 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week, whichever results in the greater number of overtime hours)

Work Location:

1512-10 Street in Nisku, T9E 7M4

Main Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, charts, and fabrication plans to determine machining operations required for oilfield equipment, structural steel components, and custom fabrication projects, while planning the most efficient and precise sequence of machining operations.

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances, and accurately measure and lay out workpieces for oilfield, structural steel, and custom fabrication components in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools, including CNC equipment, to perform precision machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, drilling, grinding, and custom machining for oilfield equipment, structural steel components, and specialized fabrication projects.

  • Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools to support the fabrication and assembly of oilfield equipment, structural steel components, and custom industrial projects. 

  • Verify dimensions and quality of machined components for accuracy and compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and industry specifications using precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures. 

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 6pm – 6am 

Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts and varying work schedules as required.
