Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain and update medical histories, personal information, and other relevant details.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments and coordinate appointment changes as required.
- Complete insurance forms, medical claim forms, and other administrative documents.
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, documents, and correspondence.
- Initiate, update, and maintain confidential medical files and patient records in accordance with privacy requirements.
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Establish and maintain office procedures and daily administrative routines.
- Enter, format, and prepare electronic medical reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and documents for review.
- Prepare and process medical documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including collecting blood samples from patients.
- Collect, label, handle, and prepare various medical specimens according to established procedures.
- Ensure proper identification, storage, and handling of patient samples for laboratory testing.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and hygiene protocols during patient care and specimen collection.
- Prepare patients for sample collection procedures and provide instructions as required.
- Provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling patient information and medical records.
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the medical office and laboratory services.
Experience and Specialization:
- 1-2 Years of experience in a medical office, clinic, laboratory, or healthcare setting is an asset.
- Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Experience preparing medical reports, correspondence, and patient documentation.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and infection control practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Strong communication and patient service skills.
Position Details:
$37.00 hourly, 33 to 40 hours per week. Permanent, full-time employment. Work schedule may include mornings, days, evenings, and weekends based on operational requirements.
