Job Description
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Plan menu size of food portions
- Estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
- Select and measure ingredients to mix to prepare foods according to menu
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- May set up and oversee buffets
- Monitor and order supplies
- May hire and train kitchen staff.
- Lead kitchen staff and helpers
- Inspection kitchen and food service areas
- Clean kitchen and work areas
