Position: Contract, Permanent, Full time with overtime as needed
Salary: $18.00/hr (min 30 hrs/week)

Education: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
Darrell’s has openings for 3 Line Cook positions for the busy Canadian style cuisine Restaurant located in downtown Halifax. The Cook position is responsible for delivering high-quality food, ensuring consistency in the daily preparation of recipes meeting Company standards.
Reporting to the Chef/Management, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
· Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
· Ensure accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks with a strong attention to detail
· Ensure full knowledge of all menu items, Company recipes, as well as Company procedures and policies pertaining to receiving, storage, sanitation, production, preparation and presentation of food.
· Prepare and portion all food items (chopping, peeling vegetables, preparing proteins for cooking, etc.)
· Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to Company standards
· Meet daily production needs, checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure quality standards are met. Chop/cut vegetables and prepare sauces as required.
· Set up and stock workstation with the required supplies for the shift. Mmaintain and clean-up work area and take care of leftover food using safe food handling techniques.
· Prepare food items for guests with food allergies or intolerances.
· Review inventory and stock and report shortages to Chef in a timely manner
