Fares & Co is looking for 1 Finance Clerk to join the team. This position is responsible for for assisting to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Finance and Management Information Service areas of the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices while checking for correct amounts, approvals, and supporting documents.
Provide general administrative support to the accounting department including filing, sorting, organizing and retrieving data and documents.
Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements
Monitor customer accounts on a regular basis to spot overdue invoices and take appropriate collection steps.
Arrange and record payment plans when needed, keeping detailed notes of all communication.
Record incoming payments, adjustments, and credits accurately in the accounting system.
Reconcile the accounts receivable, payable sub-ledgers with the general ledger to ensure accuracy.
Prepare aging reports, reconciliations, and supporting documents for month-end and year-end tasks.
Assist in preparing simple cost summaries or reports.
Work closely with sales, operations, and management teams to resolve account issues and improve accuracy in billing and payments.
Support financial operations and documentation by preparing and processing payroll, account setups, journal entries, and various financial forms.
Keep organized financial files—both digital and paper.
Summary of Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance operations, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and certification.
Experience with Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and journal entries preferred.
Knowledge of payroll processes is an asset.
Experience with accounting software.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications).

Schedule:
8 hours day shift
Monday to Friday weekly
Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
Dartmouth, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
