Responsibilities:
· Operate and drive tractor-trailers, long-combination vehicles, and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
· Plan trip logistics, including routes and schedules, and obtain all necessary documentation for efficient cargo transportation.
· Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories to ensure safe operation.
· Secure cargo properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
· Obtain special permits and other required documents for international cargo transportation and maintain accurate records of all transported goods.
· Communicate effectively with dispatchers, other drivers, and customers using communication devices and on-board computers.
· Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary and drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, if required.
· Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
· Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record, or ability to obtain one in Canada.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver.
· Experience operating tractor-trailers and other heavy vehicles, specifically cement trucks, for long-distance transportation.
· Proficient in conducting vehicle inspections and addressing mechanical issues.
· Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to cargo transportation.
· Ability to communicate effectively with team members, dispatchers, and customers.
· Familiarity with using communication devices and on-board computers.
· Experience transporting hazardous materials is a plus.
· Able to function and perform job duties in English.

· Flexibility to work long hours and travel overnight, as needed.
· Willingness to adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
