Position Summary
Accounting technicians and bookkeepers maintain comprehensive financial records, verify transaction procedures, and deliver personal bookkeeping services, serving both public and private sectors or operating as self-employed professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
This role may include, but is not limited to:

• Maintaining and balancing financial records using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing trial balances and general ledgers.
• Preparing financial statements and other reports.
• Calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, utility, tax, and other obligations.
• Completing and submitting tax remittances, workers’ compensation forms, pension contributions,  and other government documents.
• Preparing personal bookkeeping services and tax returns.
• Generating statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  
  

Employment Requirements:

Education

• Completion of secondary school is required.

Post-Secondary Education:

• College diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field OR
• First-level studies (two years) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) OR
• Accounting/bookkeeping courses paired with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk.

• Proficiency in bookkeeping software and Excel
• Effective communication and organizational abilities
• Analytical mindset, ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload

• This is a full-time position, requires 35 hours of work per week
• Salary: $24.00/ hour
