Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a compassionate and client-centred Registered Social Worker (RSW) to join our growing counselling practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling services to individuals, couples, and families.
As an independent contractor, you will enjoy the flexibility of private practice while receiving administrative and clinical support from our team. You will have the opportunity to build and maintain your own caseload through both virtual and in-person appointments.
Our counselling services are provided by Registered Social Workers who are licensed with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Clients may be eligible to submit receipts for reimbursement through their extended health insurance plans, subject to their individual policy coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional counselling and psychotherapy services to clients experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, OCD, and related conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based approaches, and other appropriate modalities.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Participate in case consultations, professional development, and ongoing clinical learning.
- Maintain ethical practice and comply with the standards established by the OCSWSSW.
- Provide a minimum of one evening or weekend availability to improve client access to care.
- Maintain a part-time or full-time caseload.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).
- Current registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Professional liability insurance.
- Minimum three years of clinical counselling or psychotherapy experience.
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and counselling skills.
- Experience providing individual counselling; experience with couples, families, children, or adolescents is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience using evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, or trauma-informed approaches is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to client-centred, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care.
- Willingness to work both virtually and in person at our Markham office.
