Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Food Service Supervisor / Team Lead to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations in the absence of the manager, maintaining high service standards, and leading a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This position requires strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and the ability to manage both front-of-house and kitchen activities effectively.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and quality service.
  • Perform managerial-level tasks including inventory management, stock rotation, and oversight of cashier and kitchen staff.
  • Act as a liaison between staff and management, ensuring effective communication and workflow.
  • Lead, train, and motivate team members to achieve performance and service goals.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to both new and existing employees.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a valid Food Handler certification.
  • Monitor and enforce health and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Handle customer concerns and difficult situations with professionalism and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Assist in scheduling staff and ensuring proper coverage based on business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including inventory, sales, and customer interactions.
  • Report operational updates, performance metrics, and any issues to management regularly.
  • Execute pre-approved managerial decisions and escalate matters requiring approval.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish is considered an asset
  • Proven experience in restaurant operations, food preparation, and customer service
  • Knowledge of inventory control and stock management
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve customer issues effectively
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in a similar role or within the establishment
  • Valid Food Handler Certification (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Full-time availability with flexibility in scheduling
