As a key member of the store’s Management Team, the Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading the cleaning department to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for customers and staff. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role ensures that all cleaning operations are carried out efficiently, schedules and tasks are properly coordinated, and staff are trained, supported, and informed. The Cleaning Supervisor is accountable for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, ensuring customer satisfaction, and delivering consistent operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of cleaners and janitors to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Inspect sites or facilities to ensure established cleanliness, sanitation and safety standards are consistently met.
• Identify maintenance needs and recommend or arrange for additional cleaning or repair services as required.
• Perform certain cleaning duties when necessary.
• Communicate and coordinate cleaning schedules and activities with other departments to support overall store operations.
• Establish and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and timely completion of tasks.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and products; purchase and restock items as needed to support continuous operations.
• Oversee the proper use, care, and basic maintenance of cleaning equipment, ensuring all tools and machines are in safe and functional condition.
• Ensure the cleaning department is organized, well-supplied, and presented to meet customer and operational expectations.
• Manage team performance by encouraging, motivating, and inspiring employees to excel in their roles.
• Hire and train cleaning staff.
• Provide guidance or training to maintain quality standards.
• Resolve conflicts while ensuring both customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, or a related customer-service environment for at least 1 to less than 7 months is required.
• Supervisory experience in a related field is an asset.
• Ability to work varied shifts (weekends, early mornings, evenings and overnight when required)
• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Approachable, supportive, and able to foster a positive team environment.
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to plan, organize, communicate, delegate and follow up team activities and projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high cleaning standards.
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make difficult decisions
