Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Oversee and coordinate daily transportation and dispatch operations to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.

  • Supervise drivers and dispatch staff, assign loads, and ensure efficient route planning to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements.

  • Monitor shipment progress and maintain regular communication with drivers and customers to resolve delays, service issues, or operational disruptions.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial transportation regulations, including reviewing driver logs and monitoring adherence to Hours of Service and safety requirements.

  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure fleet safety and operational readiness.

  • Prepare and submit operational reports, track performance metrics such as on-time delivery and productivity, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.

  • Train and support drivers and dispatch staff on company procedures, safety policies, and operational standards.

  • Coordinate with other departments, including warehouse and customer service teams, to ensure smooth logistics operations and accurate shipment handling.

  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or service-related issues, and ensure proper documentation and tracking of freight.

  • Maintain accurate transportation records, ensure proper completion of shipping documentation, and support compliance with company and regulatory requirements
